The corn troop was reported the best in years and exc- eptionally well matured in all distr- icts. Potato digging and buckwheat harvesting have also been in progress the former crop being of high, quality and heavy yields. Machine Pull, Feathers These days one hears a lot about the "machine age" and of what ma- chines will do, but it is certainly in- teresting to note that a machine has been developed which will pull the feathers off a hen faster than by hand and do a better 'job. By a simp- le process of using sets of aluminum disck, each revolving at a slightly different plane than the other, an ef- ficient plucker is produced. The discs are lined with rubber, eliminating noise and giving a better grip. They operate at a speed of fifty plucks per second. On' easy birds the plucking can be completed in two minutes, wiAle on young roosters about three and a half minutes -are required.
