here, returned to their home in Tor-

Much sympathy is extended to the
14 year-old son. of Mr. and Mrs.
'Frank Denomme of the 14th Conces-
cion, who was in the' act.of tripping
the sling roves, when the trip `rode
broke and the lad fell off the over-
; leyers in the barn;' injuring himself
,very seriously in the fall, just to
what extent we are unable to state.

bank Park on Wednesday last,
Chicken thieves are operating in
this vicinity. Recently thieves carried
off 150 young chickens from the farm
of Mr, Garnet Jacobe, Parr Line.

of Ayton, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Fil-
singer : of Listowell were week -end
yisitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Garnet Jacobe, Parr Line, and other
relatives.

weiner and corn roast at the lake one
evening last week.
'Mr. and Mrs. Herb Mousseau and
family were week -end visitors at
Lion's Head. While there Mr. Mous-
seau trolled for lake trout and .cau-
ght a couple of beauties.
A number from the district are at-
tending the Canadian National Exhi-
bition, Toronto, which opened on Fri-
day, August 28th and will continue to
Saturday, September 12th exclusive
of Sundays. in
Mr. Wm. Mybine and his mother of
Listowell were week -end visitors at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garnet
Jacobe, Mrs. Wm. Hybine and fn7.rr-
ily, who spent the week here, re-
turning home with the former:
The local, flour mill in town has
started grinding on the new crop of
wheat. There is an abundance of
good choice wheat throughoutthis
section, as this year's crop yielded all
the way from thirty to forty-five
bushels to the acre, and the quality
of the grain is very good.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hey of Lan-
don were Friday visitors with, the for-
mer's father, Mr. C. Hey, Babylon
Line. The former Mr. Hey advisee
us that he recently underwent an op-
eration for rupture which greatly im-
pared his health, and is now recover., +
ing nicely, and will soon be abl.: to
again go to work, for which. his &a- 4.
