Word was received here 'of the

Lamont of Zurich and a former Stan-

was -held on Tuesday.
Richard, the 13-year-ild son of Al-
bert Etherington, of Usborne, had a
terrifying experience which might
easily have resulted in his death, The
lad was driving a team of horses at-
tached to a hay -rake and at the end
of the field while in the act of turn-
ing around, one of the lines broke
and the team started away on the run
The lad, sensing the danger he was
in, endeavored to jump from the ra-
ke, but fortunately one of his feet
got caught in the machine and he
was dragged for a considerable dist-
ance and was badly scratched and
bruised about the body.
The -sympathy of a large circle of ;
friends is extended to Mr. and Biro.

Rev. Nelson Dreier of Osage, Iowa

the Zurich choir rendered an anthem.

On. Wednesday afternoon last, we
noticed the town somewhat deserted;
as few of the villagers were to be
seen, and on enquiry we learn d that
the whole town had moved a .vn to
the baseball grounds, and we it'could
not help but recall our nnerno es of
the good old days when basebll was
at its height in Zurich and when er n-

would gather, from near and, flii to
see these championship games. But
fame' makes changes, andlet us hope
that the new- team that is being built
up will bring back the old fire and
pep into the game.

consisted of over seven thoustnd mil-

a rare opportunity for the young Coo
