Schools are holding their annual pic-
nic to Bayfield on Thursday after-
noon of this week. Quite a number
gathered at the Hillsgreea cemetery
on Tuesday afternoon for the service
of the Corner Stone which was laid

Dr. W. Stuart Stanbury, B.A.,
Exeter boy, had been awarded the
Seholarship of the Association for
the best thesis an Tuberculosis, giv-
ing the results of original research
in Canada in 1930. The honor car- -
ries with it a money award of $250.
Dr. Stanbury was interne at Calydor •

past year and has just completed a .
post graduate course at Saranac Lake

The steamer Georgian steamed in-
to Goderich Port on Friday afternoon
from the head of the lakes with a
cargo of 105,000 bushelc of wheat
and barley, for the Goderich Elevat-
or and Transit Co., Two vessels ar-
riving on Saturday with 230,000 bus-
hels of wheat, which will make fout
grain frieighters to arrive at the port
in a week's time.
