The regular monthly meeting of
the village council was held on Mon-
day evening last, all members being.
present except Councillor Cameron.
The minutes of previous meeting we-
re read and adopted. Mr. Consitt re-
ported receiving 100 feet of fire hose
recently purchtsed from the fire hose
Co. of Kitchener and were in good
order.
William Buchanan of the village,
met with an accident during the past
week, which might have proved very
serious. He was harrowing on his,
farm a mile northeast of town, with
three horses, one very high spirited,
when in turning at a corner of .the
field, one of the lines broke and in
jumping to catch hold of the brok-
en line, this horse took fright and in
running away began kicking, strik-
ing Mr. Buchanan on the Body but
fortunately no bones were broken or
any bad wounds inflicted.

ed a position in the local postoffice.
Dr. and Mrs. E . A. Broughton,
Billy and Betty and Miss Grace Kel-
lerman, all of Toronto, 'were week-
end guests with IVIr. and Mrs. Jacob
Kellerman.
Mr. and Mrs. Harrf Kraft spent
the week -end with her parents in
Sarnia,
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Callfas of
Sarnia are spending a week with re-
latives here and in Mitchell.
Dashwood Band furnished the mus-
ic for the celebration at Ilderton on
June 3rd.
Edmund and Rudolph Becker were
on a fishing trip near Georgian Bay
during rthe week -end.
Mr. Alfred. Wilds passed away on
Thursday afternoon at the home of
his brother, Mr. Felix Wilds at the
age of 69 years, 11 months and 29
days. He had been in failing health
for some time. Besides his widow
he leaves to mourn one son and two
daughters residing in Michigan, and
two brothers, Mr. Felix Wilds and
IVIarquis Wilds of Dashwood. Funeral
services were held on Saturday after-
noon in the Lutheran church with
Rev. Ness officiating. Interment tak-
iny place in the Bronson Line Come-
otery.

Bayfield, about half an hour after re-
turning from Toronto. He had beers
in his usual, good health, and with
'his son, went to Toronto to purchase
cattle, returning he decided to ride in
the truck with another man, as they
neared Clinton Townsend took ill and
was unconscous when he reached his
