Those of us who purchased our apples from the big apple districts to the south of Zurich, find that they are very much disappointed owing to' the fact that these apples do not keep 'as anticipated, as there seems to be a Tot that quickly decays them. And probably to the much warm weather. we had in the fall, the apples did not retain their flavor as is usually expected.. Real nice winter weather has fav- ored' us the past winter with the ex- ception of Monday when there was some rain which ended up in snow. But not enough to stop the auto, as, they are running nicely through to London, although Mr. George Thiel; took the horses a few times on the ,cage to Hensall. If no more snow conies along the road will in a few days be good to Hensall for the auto. We are told that during the past week or so a deer was seen along lake front, which is perhaps nothing just so new this winter, but the in- teresting part of it is that a couple of hunters were in pursuit with guns and ammunition, but were unable to act in close range with it. A local sportsman of the village advises us shat these huntsmen claimed they we- re following the deer in order to get :L photo of the same, and this sparts- man would advise the boys next time they go out taking snaps of deer ;o take 'their cameras only and leave :he guns, etc., at home, as the deer :s perfectly harmless and no wepone Are required for self defence.
