Only two more weeks. till Christ,
Inas, the merriest time of all the year
These two weeks usually pass very
rapidly, and the early shopper from
now on is the most fortunate one.The
local merchants have went to consid-
erable trouble and expense to make
their places of business attractive
and the people will do well in patron-
izing the hoine merchant for your
Christmas shopping, and don't forget
to do it early.
Next Monday. December 15th, is
the date of tho last official sitting of
the Hay Council for the year 1930,
and also the /ast date in which the
ratepayers of the township have to
pay their taxes, that, is if they wish
to pay them at par, but after the 15th
a four per cent penalty will be ad-
ded, and who. wants to pay that: We
trust that everybody will honor their
municipality sufficiently and pay their
taxes on or before the 15th, when it
will not come again for a whole year.
Fiftieth Anniversary
A very enjoyable time was spent
on Sunday, December 7th, 1030,
when Mr. and Mrs. Martin Wurm
celebrated their fiftieth anniversary
of wedded life, at their home in
Zurich. A surprise was given them
by their children and grandchildren,
all being present but their son, Mr.
Nelson Wurni, who is living in Plato,
Sask, and (Clara), Mrs. Wm. Becker
who passed away 1p ,years ago. The
day was spent in playing games and
singing, and a very .appetizing fowl
dinner was enjoyed. The table was
all decorated with gold streamers and
gold candles. The dishes used were
of pure China which were presented
to the happy bride from her parents,
fifty years ago, as a wedding gift. A.
purse of gold was presented to them
by their only great grandchild,
Bernys McClinchey, Those present
were Mr, and Mrs. A. C. Levy, and
grandchildren Margaret and Wilbert,
of Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Dan. Oswald
and Mr, and Mrs. C. MeClinchty and
great grandchild Bernys of the Bron-
son Line, and Miss Greta, Arnold
and Gordon Becker frail DaShWooc1,.
