Italian;: entered the Bank of Nova

15 minutes later were speeding in a
coupe car towards London. with $5,-
840.04in cash, leaving the bank

have flung a net over the entire dis-
trict in the hope of catching the gun-
men, but the robbers had a half hour
start before the alarm was given.

town previous to the holdup.
Overseas Apple Market
According to Andrew Fulton, over-
seas representative of the Ontario
Fruit Growers Association, there still
continues a good demand for bright -
colored dessert fruit on the British
market. This is attributed partly to
the below -normal shipments of trans-
atlantic -fruit. During the week on
which the most recent report was
based, Ontario apples topped alI oth-
ers in price, Mclntosh's selling for
$8.60. Mr. Fulton states that all
attractively colored dessert apples
will bring good prices on the British
market at this time while the green
cooking appels are more or less a
drug on the market. Some progress
in the shipping and handling of soft
fruits is also reported, plums from
the Burlington district having arriv-
:d in excellent shape and drawing
good prices.

'eter. The ground was pliable andi
could be brought to good tilth. There
were 28 entrants in the six classes
and competition was keen. The sweep-
stakes competition was ;so close that
the judges had difficulty in selecting
the winners. W. C. Hodge, of Science'
Hill, was the winner of the beautiful
four -piece silver tea service donated.
by A. J. Eskard. This was open to
Mee from Perth, Middlesex, Lambton
and Huron Counties. The attend-
ance was..the highest on record and
the weather was ideal. The success
