On. Thursday evening, October 16,
the Fowl Supper of the Evangelical
Church, Zurich, is swinging gleefully
into history to th tune of the Zurich
Band, and jolly greetings and chat-
ting, of visiting guests, around well
laden banquetting tables. The psalm-
ist says: "Behold how good and how
pleasant it is for brethern to dwell
together in unity" verrily we find it
so at such occasions, as well as in the
Sanctuary on the Sabbath Day. The
Supper itself is highly enjayable in-
deed, then follows the unbeatable
program by Perless Talent and this
is their slogan: "if yer 'Can't Laff
don't kum". But we know you
enjoy wholesome merriment, so on
Thursday, Oct. 3 Gth, all roads lead to
Zurich to the Evangelical Church
Shed Dining Ball. Amos and Andy
make you smila for only 15 minutes
but the Peerless entertainers give you
an .hour and a half of it and there
will -not be a dull moment in the en-
tire program, but rather you will
find it a real tonicky, healthful joy-
ful exercise. A little fun: now and
then is relished by the best. of men.
We are prepared for a large• crowd of
friends, old and new, from near and
far. Don't miss the Bazaar of fancy
home sewing and candy and tether
sweet meats, etc. And listen! You'd
better come early!
The real Fowl Supper of the season
given by the members of the St. Pet-
er's Lutheran church, will be held on
October 23rd. Good hot dinner will
be served from 5 to 9 o'clock. A
splendid programme will be furnished
by the members of the Luther Lea-
gue. The Zurich Brass Band i nat-
tendance. Come one, Come all!

!'Ir. and Mrs. Elmer Oesch were
to London on Tuesday on business.
Mrs. E. Church of town has pur-
chased from C. Fritz & Son a good
used Ford Coach.
Mrs. W. F. Finkbeiner and daught-
er, Miss Hazel, of Stratford, were
visitors on Sunday at the former's
sister, Mrs. W. H. Hoffman.
Mr. and Mrs. John Farwell, Mr.
and Mrs. Alex. Meyer and son, of St.
Clemens, were visitors at the home of
Mr. George Farwell of town.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Greb and family
of Detroit were week -end visitors at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Bren-
ner.
Mr. and Homer Schettler, bridal
couple, of Pigeon, Mich., were visit-
ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jacob Gingerich, the past week.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Barber and
children and Miss Mary Zimmer-
man, of Tavistock, wer visitors at the
home of Miss Anna Hess, for a few
days the past week.
Mrs. Ernest Bender and son Ed-
win of Blyth, Mr. and Mrs. W. H.
Pfile of Auburn, visited for a few
days last week at the home of Mrs.
Lydia Pfile.
Mr. and Mrs. John E. Gascho and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gascho
were Sunday visitors at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Gascho, at Har-
riston
a and Mrs. Ramsayer, Mr. .and
Jos.'%chert Sr. and Mr. and Mrs.
Jos. Richert, J., all of Elkton, Mich.,
were visitors at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Christ Erb, Bronson Line, over
the week -end.
Mr. Frank Uttley looks quite com-
fortable driving around in the closed
model of the Ford Tudor, wnieh: he
recently purchased from C. Fritz &
Son. Frank •says it saves his over-
coat very much.
Mr. N. E. Siemon, the. Massey -
Harris agent, who is renovating the
farmsr Dominion Hotel hall and barn
into a suitable place for his implem-
ents and living quarters out of the
former hall, is making fine progress
and should in a week or so be in a
position to occupy these quarters,
which will indeed be a great conven-
ience.
Mr. J. W. Merner is making iin-
provements to the exterior of his
store by the addition of a new coat
of paint. Mr. Merner, who has sign-
ed up with The Superior Chain Stor-
es, for his groceries, will in a short
trine have a Iarge and attractive
sign erected to this effect. And if
ti ah vast co-operative buying that
this company advertises, is of any
benefit to the buying public, we think
there never was a time like right
now that the ordinary commodites
Amok/ come down, greatly in price. So
here's hoping.
On Monday morning while Miss
Helen Foster of Detroit, who was vis-
iting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex.
Faster of town, was returning to that
city, accompanied by Mr. Harold'
Kropp, and while motoring' on Mack
Ave., they mea with a rather painful.
accident, when they met a lady driv-
ing a Buie car and who did not offer
to turn out in meeting, and as Miss
Foster put forth all effort to avoid
an accident their car was hit by the
Buie car, with 'the result that Miss
Foster was rushed to the Hospii,'tel,
where she is improving favorable, Mr.
Klopp escaped wit, 't minor injuries.
The two big annual fowl suppers
sponsorued by the Evangelical ehurch,
on. Thursday evening of this week,
and then by the Lutheran church, on
Thursday evening of next week.
When each of these congregations are
marshalling their forces together to
put across these big events. And
talk about the eats and heavy meals
that most of us will take unto our-
selves. Yes perhaps just a little more
than is comfortable for a while, but
if we fast all next day then we will
again feel normal. Lot us all join in
together and patronize these big ev-
Nnts, not alone the eats, but the line
programs, which in many eaves are al
most WQ,r i. the admission fee alone.
