TheChristian 's Big Temptation
The church needs your presence at
worship, it cannot fight the battles of
the kingdom with absent soldiers. Are
you putting an auto ride ahead of
church attendance? On many a
lovely Sunday morning, some mem-
ber of the family is heard saying: Oh
it's such a fine day, suppose we take
the car and go to "Othertown" for a
visit; and it dosen't help matters any,
when this is the twentieth Sunday
visit we have made during the season,
when we seem to have license to do
as we please. Why not go riding at
the proper time and also be present
at the church service at the proper
time? Suppose every member of the
church did -as so many do; how pros-
perous could the church be, and how
long could it carry on. Your p.res-
enee helps. Your absence hinders.
Are you working for the church?
Are you"responsible for it's success?
Surely! Gan you be selfrespecting
and ask your pastor to preach repeat-
edly to your empty pew?
Subject---l3eing filled with the spirit.
