On TueSday evening the public

journeyed to Zurich and played the
Zurich boys a friendly game of ball.
Although the visitors had consider

they can give the' Hensall boys a real
argument.

Some correspondents in sending in
their news items place a one cent
stamp on the envelope and then seal
it. This is contrary to law, if you
seal the .envelope a two cent stamp
must' be attached, but the regular
way in sending in news items Is to
put a one cent stamp on the envelope
and then do NOT seal it.

A number of young fellows of
Hensall and Hay Tp., were in the
mood on Sunday of having a real
"blow-out"' on Sunday afternoon, by
taking a car laden with something
stronger than water, and proceeding
down the London Road between Hen -
sell and Exeter, on the part of road
that was closed to traffic. However,
as the story goes, "John Barleycorn'
had his say and the car turned over'
in the ditch,. and the passengers who
;-ere shook up considerably abandon -
hi the machine but left the "wet
geode with their coats in the car.
High Constable Whitesides of Coder-

..'.'.. I Was- Just Thinking
Th. Look in My M•ther's Ere
(By A. W. Norton)
My mother is the finest pal
4 ever;:;ever had:. • ,
She understands when I am goed.
And loves me when I'm bad.
She knows the nicest sort"of games,
And from my story book
Will often read the, queerest tales,
And never evertlOok.
Then when Ipease' her very much,
There's something in her eyes
That makes me think of twinkling
stars
Away up in the skies,
Just what it io I do not know,
But when she loOks that way,
I seem to feel she's thinking things
By far too sweet to say.
