Presentation
The business men of Zurich felt
that they could not let their beloved
associate, Mr. T. L. Wurm Ieave the
village without in some way expres-
sing their feeling. So on Saturday
evening they met in the store of Mi
Fred Thiel and Mr. A. F. Hess read
the following- address, while Mr. J.
E. Gascho made the presentation to
Mr. Wtzrm of a fully equipped leather
club bag, and to which Mr. Wurm r
plied very 'favorably.
Zurich, May 2; 193

the interest and welfare of the co

We recollect with feeling of prid
the position held by the village a fe
years ago in the amateur baseba
field in Western Ontario and we fee
that your interest and active partic

Zurich on the baseball map at tha
time.
We are sorry to see you leave us
and extend to yuoour wife and your-
self our best wishes for a prosperous
and successful future.. We ask' you
to accept this gift as a slight token
in remembrance of the people of Zur-

welcome at any time that you may
be able to visit us in the years to
come.—Signed on behalf of the bus-

ed, the funeral of the late Clarence
Kellerman, at Dashwood, on Tuesday

and Mrs. L. W. Hoffman, were Sun-
day visitors at Crediton.
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Gascho made a

day.

W. Siebert, and Miss V. Siebert we-
re Tuesday visitors to London,
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. O'Brein, Mr.
and Mrs. Lee O'Brein, were Sunday
:;gitors with relatives at Crossweli,
Mich.
Vlessrs. Sandy Elliott of Exeter,
and Mr. Duncan, the Ford Had man
of London, called in the village on
Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Merner, moved
into the living quarters above their
store on Monday, which will make it
very convenient indeed for their bus-
iness.
Mr. and Mrs- George Thiel, Sr.,
Mr. Hugh Thiel, and Mr. Andrew
Thiel were Sunday visitors at the
home of Mr. Dan Thiel, of Kitchener,
who is on the sick list.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin D. Smith, and
daughters Cathern, Marjorie and
Meriam, of Hamilton, were week -end
visitors at the homes of the former's
brot:ers, C. 0. Smith of .the Blue
War Highway, and C. L. of town.
Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Wurm moved
their household effects by Epps' mov-

regret very much to loose them as
citizens of Zurich, and wish them ev-
ery success in their new home.
Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffman and
daughter Lillian, and Mr. Sol. Bet-
tchen, of London, were Sunday visit-
ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sol.
Martin's Babylon Line, also other
friends on Sunday.
Mr. Norman Gascho, the local milk
distributor, has good news for his
customers in town, as beginning May
12th, the milk will again go back to
the old price of 12c. a quart.
The clean-up season, as well as tho
planting season is right • in our midst
at present, and the people are asked
to co-operate with the council; and
have everything cleaned up as soon
as possible. There are, sorry to say,
a number of bad looking places along
the roadsides in the village, which
could easily be made much more tidy.
Don't wait till the officer of the law
comes and compells you to clean-up,
but have some taste and go at it and
o it right now.
Mr. C. Eilber, local constable, had
very busy day in the village on
unday, as a goodly number passing
hrough town disregarded all speed
irnit laws, going through town from
irty to fifty miles. an hour and the-
eby endangering all pedestrants on
he streets. Mr. Reber took down
the numbers of no less than five cars
ho were violating"the law, and these:
f course, will be dealt with accord -
ng to law: The officers of the law
lead with the public to stop this
reckless driving, and speeding. The
ounty 1'raffie .Officer also had a
usy afternoon on Sunday between
oderich and Grand Bend, and made
venal prosecutions.
Mrs. Challett Passes.
Mrs. Challett, widow of the late'
ugust Challett, who died some years
go, passed from this life, on Tues -
ay morning of this week, after a
ather lingering illness, as her stat:,
health was very poorly the last
hile, at the ripe old age of 81 years
age. She was one of the pioneer
ttlers of the district and could in
✓ time relate many of the hardships
the primative settlers of the corn -
unity. Was loved by all who knew
✓ as a lady of good qualities and n
ving disposition. "She is survived
three sons: Alex. ,:and Jul. Challett,
home on the farm, north of Drys -
le, Louis Challett of Detroit, and
so one daughter living in Detroit.
