These nice and warm days make
one think of the half -holiday season
every Wednesday afternoon, which
will likely again be observed in Zur-
ich this season. One of the first we-
eks the town of Brussels is commenc-
ing and which will last till November
1st, and a great many would like this
popular day of rest the whole year
around. •
At the regular monthly meeting of
the Zurich Police Trustee Board on
Tuesday evening, it was decided to
order five, ton of Calcium Cloride to
put on the Zurich streets to prevent
the' dust 'front flying in the -summer
months. Last year six tons were
used, but the Village Fathers think
five tons 'will suffice this year, as
one can still see where this salt was
applied last year, as it stili holds a
dampness on the road, This year
the instructions will be followed more
closely, namely by first cleaning the
road of loose dirt and dust, and then
thoroughly sprinkling the road before
and after applying the salt, which
will dissolve at once and not be wash-
ed away so readily as when applied to
the dry road, and it is stated that in
his way, the dissolved liquoid is not
so aptto adhere to the lower parts

• ... I Was Just Thinking
Happy is the man who is well acq-
uainted with himself. Knowledge is
power and self-knowledge coupled
with the sooing knowledge of God is
doubly so. Our thoughts are the
rudder of our life, hence to steer
straight we must think straight. The
torch of religion may be lit in the
church, but it does not succeed un-
less it does its burning hi the shop
and street. Stand fast'in the faith,
be like men and be strong. I Cor. 16:
13. To stand fast also includes pro-
gressing Some people wear out Jive
pair of holdbacks to one pair of tugs.
Anyone who can be a minister and
please' everybody is too popular to be
good and too good to be true., and
too dishraggy to be of any use to
God or man. Have a drink Jerry? No
thanks I have a better and nobler use
for Lny head than that. You can't
build an illustrious life on what you
are going to do, but never do it.
