IN MEMORIAM
In loving memory of our dear
husband and father, John Decher,
who died. one year ago, March 2nd,
1929.
Themoon and stars are shining.
On a lone and silent grave.
Beneath lies one we dearly loved
But whom we could not save..
Friends may think we have forgotten
When at times they see us smile,
Little do they know the heartache
That our smile hides all the while.

Companions Count
Our companions make or mar
character. Oriols do not flock with
crows, nor bats with canaries. Flow-
ers are found in family groups and
stars in constellations. We are kno-
wn by where we "hang around". Get-
ting into the wrong gang has been
the downfall of many a promising
young life. Wrong habits bind us
with strong unbreakable chains. A
wise and worthy champion is a price-
less treasure, not to be compared
with rubies. Evil companions' are
more destructive to good moral con-
duct, than are plagues and pesthous-
es to physical welfare. Christians
are not always like fish which retain
their freshness in a salt sea, nor like
roses preserving their sweetness a-
mong the choking weeds: ,Be caut-
ious with whom ,you associate. Some
of them are wolves in lamb's clothes.
No person that is an enemy to God
and an aponent to Christ's principles
can be a trrie.friend to man. Shun
such as you would a serpent because
of their power to taint, corrupt and
poison you at life's fountain. Keep
such company that yuo need not
blush over it. Give Jesus first place
and make all .other friends come up
to his standard or bow thein out.
