llth this year, and the current issue
of the Canadian Gazette accordingly
publishes a proclamation declaring
that day to be one of public thanks-
giving.

track and field meet at the Agricult-
ural Park, Goderich, on Friday, Oct-
ober 11th, beginning at 1 p.m. Com-
petitors from the Collegiate Institut-
es and High Schools of Exeter Mit-
chell, Seaforth, Clinton and Goderich
will take part in the contests. A
fine set of trophies and medals has
been provided for the winners.

The annual gathering of the Wo-
men's Missionary Society Conference
of Huron Presbyterial of the United
Church, was held in Egmondville
United Church on September 26th.
The chair was occupied by the vice-
president, Mrs. W.F.Lane,ofSeafortb.
The delegates were welcomed by Mrs
Malcolm and Mrs. Britton, of Con --
stance responded. Fourteen auxiliar-
