Last Friday
ced our first frost of the fall season,'
and little damage was done, but the
green plants were nipped off some-
what, but the growth in general is
fine as the rains the past week re-
plenishen the moisture nicely, but
not so in many +districts in Ontario,
as around Kitchener we are told it
has not rained to amaunt to anything
for weeks, the drye',t in thirty years.
The fall wheat is coming up only in
spots in that district. Surely we
sannot but realize that we are being
specially favored.

The Radiant Countenance
1 Frequently there is more in
your look than in your "looks" and
comeliness.
2 Carry- the radiance of your soul
in your face, it will help the world.
3 How you look, and what you
look for, that you are.
4.. ±,I,pst fglk look too much -down-
ward and outward aril not enough
i: -:•.r.1 and upward.
5 Absorb the sunny days; it will
brighten the sombre and dreary ones.
.9 Putting sunshine into others is
the best way of finding it for your-
self.
'1 Sunshine applied wisely to the
tanning of face and body is one of
God's ways to bodily health. Inward
sunshine gladdens the heart, quickens
the pulsebeat, beautifies the face and
affords strength for waiting tasks.
8 In places the road to Heaven is
rough and unheavenly, but the end
makes up for it.
9 We are skillful at looking into
Dthers; analyzing, dissecting and crit-
icizing them viciously but forget to
scrutinize and classify ourselves.
