Mr. anct Mrs. Ezra Koehler and family of Baden were recent visitors in the village. Rev. and Mrs. Whitesides and son of Toronto, are spending a few days visiting at the Williams home. Mr. and Mrs. Christ Erb of the Bronson Line, Mr. and Mrs. Mose Bechler of Exeter, were Sunday vis- itors with friends at Tavistock. Mr. Arthur Well of Detroit, Mr. Hamor Well of Montreal, also Misses Matilda, and Ida Well of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Wagner of Washington, Lith., attended the funeral of the late Herman Well the past week. HILLSGREEN Mrs. Wm. J. Jarrott Passes Christena Eonthron, beloved wife of Wm. John Jarrott, of Hillsgreen was born on November 2nd 1865 on the Second Concession of Hay Town- ship. In 1891 .she was united in mar- riage to Mr. Jarrott, with whom she trod life's pathway for over 38 ye- ars. For ten years they lived happily •on the 5th Con. of Hay, then mov- ing to Hillsgreen for tenyears. Later they bought the store where Mrs. Jarrott lived until the time of her death. The best of medical aid and all that loving hands, tender nursing could do to perpetuate physical life. her spirit passed peacefully away to. her Heavenly home on Wednesday, September 4th, 1929. She was truly a wonderful mother, a loving compan- ion, and a great asset to the building up of God's Kingdom in the com- munity in which she lived. Was a member of the Hillsgreen United church. Deceased was the eldest of a family of eleven. Besides her sor- rowing husband and one daughter, Annie, three sisters and three broth- ers survive: Mrs. D. Nichol and Mrs. 3. Steacy of Hensall; Mrs. J. Haw- thorne and John of Moose Jaw, Sas., William of Grand Forks, 13.C; and James of Echnonton, Alta. The fun- eral was held on. Stelck was a recent visitor with his brother Chas, of Varna. Anniversary services will be held in Hillsgreen Unitd Church on Sun- day, September 22nd. Rev. Mr. Maines of Walton will conduct the services at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Quite a nurnber are attending the London Fair this week. We are sorry to report that Miss Edna Cochrane of Toronto went thr- oegh an operation for appendicitis in Clinton Hospital.
