chimney or stove pines, as when Mrs.

chen at the time, heard something
unusual upstairs, and in going cep
found everything in a mass of Baggies

Overclever, but not Overwise, and
Overgood.
The heart is wiser than the intel-
lect. Knowledge niay he proud, but
wisdom is humble. Knowledge comes
but wisdom and goodness linger.. We
may be getting too clever, but never
too good. We are told of discovery
and invention that will effect radical
changes in social and domestnc life.
Scientists offer us a tablet so concen-
trated that one swallow constitutes a
meal. What a relief to the overwork-
ed housewife. No more overworked
nerves because of cooking, baking
and dishwashing. She will call her
family together, hand one tablet to
each member, then one gulp and the
thing is done. What a boon to busy
people it will be. Next, the clever
scientist places us in the chair, gives
us an electrical shower that is equal
to an hour's exercise. Truly the
world does move! Next they will
give you a pill that provides you with
eight hours sleep in ten minutes.
Soon we will pick up the experience
of a lifetime in 15 minutes. Glorious
isn't it? Soon we will be able to get
anything front a stick of gum to a
scat in glory, by simply dropping .a
penny in the slot, I wonder are we
getting good and better •and best, as
we are ,getting clever? If not alas!
'rhe church will. helpyou let's use it
constantly. We need it. It ,s rime'
erous to become overwise and under-
good,
