Late Herman Well
Herman Well, one of the pioneers
of this community, born October 9,
1846 in Wilmot Township, Waterloo
County, passed away in Detroit,Mieh
on September 2, 1929, aged 82 ye
ars, 11 months and 7 days. He was
married to Elizabeth Weil who pre-
deceased him 9 years ago. Four dau-
ghaers and two sons were given them.
He was a member of the Evangelical
Church at Zurich and lived a beauti-
ful christian life, held the various
offices in the church, but owing to
failing health could not attend wor-
ship for a few years. The radio
sermon's however mede up in a meas-
ure for this great loss for which he
was so thankful. His affliction ex-
tended over several years and was
quite distressing. Ten days ago par-
alysis set in and led to his death. He
was the very embodiment of gentle-
ness, kindness and goodness. It was
next to impossible to see him ruffled
the joys and sorows of matrimonial
or ill -willed. For 46 years he shared
life with his companion. Their home
was one of fine religious influence
and spiritual atmosphere. Here the
sons and daughters grew up in the gaiet and Billy, of Detroit, spent a
