Nelson Blatchford, weed inspector, for the village is busy cutting the weeds and ordering a general clean- up through the village. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Patterson were week-nd visitors in Detroit. Boss &Brazier; paving contracts on the London Road, - have finished the part of paving into Kippen. But it will take several weeks yet to put: the shoulders on the road. There is some doubt whether there will be :t further extension to Boss & Brazier to pave from Kippen to Hensall, but the Reeve here has the promise of the Highways Minister, Hon. G. S. Henry that the road will be completed to Exeter next year. Miss Helen Smith, R. N., of Omar, Mich,, is spending a few weeks' vac- ation at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Siebert Zurich Reeve Higgins was in Goderich, on Tuesday last attending the meeting of the Huron County Pension Board - Mr. and Mrs. Richard Welsh, pion- eer residents of the village celebrated the diamond anniversary of their wed ding on Sunday last. HMr. and Mrs. Welsh were both born in Devonshire England; Mrs. Welsh being now in her 78th year, while Mr. Welsh is :sow 82 years of age. Following their Marriage, they spent some eleven ye- nrs in England before coming to this country, taking their passage over the ocean on the Sarmation, making the trip in 14 days. They were first at- tracted to Exeter, where so many of the .Devonshire,people were settled, but only remaied a week there, wh- en they decided to make their home in. Hensall.
