Mr. and Mrs. Owen Geiger extend
a cordial invitation to all their neigh-

their residence on Friday, July 26th,

occasion being their golden wedding
anniversary.
Mrs. Thos. Wren moved her house-
hold effects to Lucknow, where she
will reside. Her son Bert, has a
good position with Silverwoods, at
that place.
Dr. Samuel Coulter, wife and
family of Toledo, Ohio, are visiting
here with his parfents, Mr. and Mrs.
J. Coulter.
John Stacey of Detroit was a we-
ek -end visitor with his mother here.
His siser Lillian and friend returned
with him.
Miss Ira Higgins of Kitchener, vis-
ited at her home here.
Nelson Blatchford, weed inspector,
for the village is busy cutting the
weeds and ordering a general clean-
up through the village.
Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Patterson were
week-nd visitors in Detroit.
Boss &Brazier; paving contracts
on the London Road, - have finished
the part of paving into Kippen. But
it will take several weeks yet to put:
the shoulders on the road. There is
some doubt whether there will be :t
further extension to Boss & Brazier
to pave from Kippen to Hensall, but
the Reeve here has the promise of the
Highways Minister, Hon. G. S. Henry
that the road will be completed to
Exeter next year.
Miss Helen Smith, R. N., of Omar,
Mich,, is spending a few weeks' vac-
ation at the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Alex. Smith and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wilson and
daughter Marie of Toronto are vis-
iting at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Wm. Consitt.

Reeve Higgins was in Goderich, on
Tuesday last attending the meeting
of the Huron County Pension Board -
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Welsh, pion-
eer residents of the village celebrated
the diamond anniversary of their wed
ding on Sunday last. HMr. and Mrs.
Welsh were both born in Devonshire
England; Mrs. Welsh being now in
her 78th year, while Mr. Welsh is
:sow 82 years of age. Following their
Marriage, they spent some eleven ye-
nrs in England before coming to this
country, taking their passage over the
ocean on the Sarmation, making the
trip in 14 days. They were first at-
tracted to Exeter, where so many of
the .Devonshire,people were settled,
but only remaied a week there, wh-
en they decided to make their home
in. Hensall.
The motor . busses now running be-
tween Godrich and Stratford, bear
the trademark "Arrow," indicating
that the route is controlled by the
Central Ontario Bus Lines, whi:.h'
have taken over the Grey and Bruce
Coach Lines. for some time operated
by J. V. Miller. Mr. Miller and his
son remain in the employ of the Cen-
tral company, the former being l.ocat
cd at Owen Sound,
Some sixty members of the Baird
family met on. July 113th, of Jowett's
Grove, Bayfield, for their second an-
nual reunion. They are the descend
ants of Mr, and Mrs. Thomas Baird.

who emigrated from Ayrshire, Scot
land, over seventy years ago, and set.
sled on the farm now occupied by G.
T. Baird on the 2nd eon. Stanley. 24
motored up from. Detroit, four from
London, four from. Wingham, and 1,Ir.
Wm. Baird. from Toronto, the rest
were Stanley residents.
