recent rains have given the small
plants a good start, and a good crop
should result.

house that Mr. Ivan Kalbiieisch is
practically cola'ipleted as far as the
brieh Work is concerned, and certain-
ly has.a fine' appearance.
Mrs. Earl Weido and grandmother,
I!Jrs, Edighoffer, are pleasantly spend
ing a 10 days' vacation at Windsor.
Dorothy Weido -is spending the we-
ek at Blake.
,Mr. and Mrs. L. Goodbread and
family of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs.
Kaiser and family were week -end
visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs:
Ed. Axt. The entire 'company, in -
chiding Mr. Axt, .enjoyed a splendid
outing up the Bruce Peninsular, be-
ing north as far as*Pike's Bay and
Lion's Head, on Georgian Bay.
!Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Smith and dau-
ghter Mae, attended the big camp
meeting of the M. B: C. church on
their fine grounds near. Kitchener, ov-
er the week -end. A new tabernacle
with a capacity of two thousand peo-
ple has been erected this summer on
these grounds, and Sunday's attend-
ance could not nearly hold the large
multitudes of peoples that gathered
with a desire for foodforthe inner..
man.
Young Life Passes,
The colnintmity was shocked to
hear -of .the sudden death of Ervin
Frederick ItcBaide„ son of Mr. and
Mrs. John McBride of the Blind Line
Hay, en' Saa,turday, at the London
hospital, aged 1.8 years, " 2 months and
9 days. On Wednesday cif last week
he was strl.cken with lockjaw, and
was at once rushed to London Iosint-
al, for treatments, but the germs had
set in so severely that practically
nothing could be done, tend the pain
he suffered was immense, and death
carne only as a relief on Saturday
evening. 13e Was a real young gentle
man, loved and 'admired by all who
knew hint, and • will be missed not
alone in the home, but in the 'entire
Community. The remains were laid
to rest iii the Hayfield cemetery
Tuesday afternoon, the, funeral being
very largely attended, as friends paid
their last tribute to the departed. He
is survived besides his sorrowing par-
ents, one brother Roy, and three sis-
ters, who have the. sympathy of a
large circle of friends.
