Mae, attended the funeral of their
uncle, the late Jacob Thiel at New
Hamburg on Monday, having passed
away on Friday in his 72nd year.
By. a ruling effective May lst, the
revenue war tax which has been
chare;ed on illi railway and steam-
ship tickets is abolished. The tax
rate has been one per cent. on rail-
ing car tickets, and ten per cent on
way tickets, ten per cent. on sleep -
steamship tickets. •
In last week's issue we made men-
tion of the Zurich Women's Institute
as attending the district meeting at
Crediton, this however was the meet-
ing when the annual summer speaker
is here, and the annual district meet-
ing will be held in Exeter, on June
12th.
