ear. Ivan ltaibueisch, wiio is erect-
ing a new residence house just east
of their planing mill, is this week
having the excavation dug for the cel-
lar, which will give them a good and
early start in the season.
Sorry to report that Mr. John Bech
ler, of Blake, while in the general
store of R. N. Douglas, on Monday,
was stricken with a paralytic stroke.
Mr. Bechler was assisted to his home
where we are pleased to say, he is
recovering as well as can be expected
Mr. C. Fritz has purchased the par-
cel of land just west of his shoe shop
and up to the Fire Hall, from Mr. J.
W. Manor, and will probably erect
a garage on the lot, which will be a
great convenience in their auto bus-
iness.
.A. very unexpected death occured
in Zurich it is thought on Monday
evening, when Miss Lisetta Reichert
passed away at her home just east of
the village. The body was however
not discovered until Tuesday when it
was still sitting in the rocking chair,
where she had died. Coroner Dr. P.
J. O'Dwyer was at once called and
after examination found that the de-
ceased had died a natural death. The
funeral will be held on Thursday aft-
ernoon to the Lutheran cemetery.
The cleanup season is now again
at hand, and this spring will be more
observed than ever. Our worthy vil-
lage fathers are making an appeal to
the citizens of Zurich to have all
such obstruction removed from the
streets as is a nusiance, and in fact
they will inforce this by-law to its
full extent if the people will not co-
operate. The bicycle riding on the
sidewalks will also be stopped; and
we trust the people will observe these
requests and make Zurich an even
tidier and. deader place than ever.
Mr. Herb. Mousseau, our popular
garage proprietor, was at London, on
Thursday of last week, and while
there has again made arrangements
to again represent the popular Whip-
pet and Willys Knight line of auto-
mobiles, returning with three new
models, two in the four line and one
of the new Whippet Six which is a
very admirable job, and should be
wonderful value for the money. The
nifty four coupe that he brought a-
long, soon found a new owner, which
happens to be our popular miller, Mr.
T. L. Williams, who exchanged his
Ford coup on, this new Whippet. Con-
stable Jul Block has .purchased the
Ford coup from Mr. Mousseau form-
erly owned by Mr. Williams. Mr.
Block will likely have an extra high
speed gear put in this car so he can
cope "or Cop" with the fast travelling
motorists and get their number and
have them lined before the Magistrate
for speeding. We do not thing a lit-
tle checkup on this would be amiss
in the summer months on the Blue
Water Highway,
