OESCH, Agent Zurich, Ont, KOiSLER "All that you seek in Radio" . Mr. Ed. Deichert of Detroit, was a recent visitor with relatives here. Mr. T. L. Wurm spent the week- end at Bayfield. Mr. John Decher Sr., is spending a few dnyn visiting Dashwood friends this week. Mr. Earl E. Weido is attending the big Hardwaremen's Convention at Hamilton this week. Mr. and Mrs. Yule of Fullerton, who are spending a few weeks visit- ing relatives here, left for Exeter on Tuesday. Miss Gladys Guenther of Mitchell, is visiting with her mother Mrs. Jane Guenther, who is staying at the home of her mother, Mrs. S. Rennie. Sorry to learn that Mr. Thomas Turnbull, late of the Blue Water Highway, Hay, and recently moved to Grand Bend, is not enjoying his usual good health. • Don't forget the big free moving picture demonstration in the Town Hall next Tuesday evening, when the local Pontiac agent, Mr. G. Koehler, will put on a program of admirable pictures and all free. Remember the date and be sure and come. A very sad and sudden death oc- cured on Tuesday noon, on the Bron- son Line, Hay, when Mr. Daniel Gingerich passed very suddenly. He had riot been enjoying his usual health .921 winter, and his death carne very sunenly. ' A more complete ac- count of deseased will appear in next week's issue:. • An interesting and snappy game of hockey was played on the local rink on Tuesday evening, when the famous Hensall team, strengthened by two prominent players of the O.H. A., but, they all looked alike to the home stalwarts, as the locals came out on top with the score, namely 2--3. Our boys have been. playing some real good hockey this season. A mantrimonial event of interest to Zurich people took place at Wes- ley Parsonage, Clinton, on Tuesday February 5th, when the Rev. A. A. Holmes united in marriage Mrs. Cath: erine Jane Smith Of Hensall to Mr. Janes Dayman of Tuckersmith. Mrs. Smith is well arid favorably known by practically everybody in Zurich and -her many friends here join in extending congratulations. • Considerable comment is being made nearly every day about the con- dition of the roads from here . to Hensall. We are advised that the London Road from Clinton to Lond- on is being kep otpen with the snow plow, from Bayfield to Goderich, from Dashwood to Exeter, and from Varna to Seaforth, but alas from Zurich to Hensall there is little if any effort made to keep the roads in a condition for the autos to run. We cannot help' but think that it is through the appeal of the public that most use these roads that they are kept open, and there is no reason that if ,the proper steps were taken that the Zurich Road would receive the sane attention as other equally travelled roads. Fowl Dinner A very unique and sumptuous fowl dinner was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and.Mrs. Roy'Merner, 14th Con- cession, Hay 'Township on Friday ev- ening February 15th, when some twenty relatives and friends gathered and partook of a splendid repast that will be fresh':in their memory for a long time. The occasion being in honor of the birthday of Mrs. Emma Hawthorn •of Houston, Texas Need- less to say Mrs. Merner, the hostess knows just how tohandle sucha gathering, especially when they come prepared to consume fowl, and this certainly was in abundance, and of the very best. During the evening the Host and Hostess entertained the gathering with so.Ine spicy selections on the violin and piano, and some good radio selections were also en- joyed. Among those present were; Mr. and Mrs. S. Merner, Mr, and Mrs. Geo, Brock and family and Mr. Fred ,Brock, all of Hensall; Mx, and Mrs. A. Melick and Mo. J. Decher Sr. of. Zurich, and Mrs. E. Hawthorn of Houston, Testas. SAVE THE PIECES WE CAN DUPLICATE YOUR BRO- KEN LENSES ACCURATELY, Let Us fill 'your next Optical Pres- cription..
