The severe cold weather over the week -end has truly reminded us of the old adave ,"when the clays leng- then, the cold strenthens", and we have experienced some real snappy weather, which stimulates up the coal business of our local dealers, Messrs L. Schilbe & Son. Mr. Gideon Koehler has purchased from his uncle, Mr. Peter Koehlerr, part of his building used the past few years for storing automobiles. Mr. G. -Koehler will have good use for this part of this building as he usu- ally has a few cars on hand, being the Pontiac and Buie dealer for Zur- ich and vicinity. 'The Christmas entertainment held in the Evangelical church on Sunday evening was in every way a success and considering the condition of the weather, there was a large attend- ance, The first part of the program consisted of a number of interesting numbers given by the juniors, this was followed by the pageant render- ed by the members of the choir, assis ted by a few of the congregation. Mr. Scott, who has been the pop- ular barber at the .Dominion Hotel for the last six months or so, has dis- continued* his connection with that business, and has left for his former home at Blyth. Mr, Precious, who has had charge of the business prev- ious to Mr. Scott, and who was ob- liged to discontinue owing to have the misfortune to fracture his arm, while cranking Isis auto, has returned to Zurich from Goderich, and will in future have charge of this barber business. A very interesting matrimonai ev- ent was celebrated at St. Peter's R, C. Church, Drysdale, on Monday, December 7th, when Rev. Father Gerard united in Holy Wedlock, Miss Meryl GeIinas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gelinas of the Goshen Line, Hay Township, and.iMr. Dennis Corriveau, • son of Mr, and Mrs. Frank Gorriveau, of Drysdale. The Herald joins their many friends in ex tending congratulations, A very interesting event will be cele.brated in the St. Peter,s Lutheran church next June, when the annual District Synod meeting will congre- gate in Zurich, and some 120 posters• and, delegates are expected to be Pres cart. eTnis event was last celebrated in .Zurich fn 1921, and one of the in- teiosting pasts.' of thr; ^. rogr* Will be the :orda'natidn services when.
