run for these various offices. And
we hope it will pass off nice and gent
lemanlike.

Mrs. D. Davis of Salenca, N. Y.,
nee Miss Reta Jamieson, of our vil-
lage, a niece of Mrs. Duncan Mc-
Martin, is here and intends spending
the whiter months in the vicinity.
Mr. Wm. Doig, barrister, of Port
Huron, Mich., was in our village the
first part of the week renewing acq-
uaintances.
IVIr. and Mrs. Mark Drysdale rece-
ntly motored to Toronto taking in the
Winter Fair and calling on se*geral
relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Percy Grain and Wm
Gram of Lansing, Mich., and their
sistc r, Miss Ada of Detroit, spent the
week -end with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. George Gram.
Alf. Clark had the misfortune re-
cently , while taking down the decor-
ations at the Town Halll, following
the Odd Fellow's at hone, to fall off
quite a high ladder to the floor, and
receive very painful injuries, but for
tunately no bones were fractured.
The residence. of William 'Utter-
bein in the cast end of the village
was threatened by fire when a blaze
started in the chimney. Prenpt re-
sponse by the firemen prevented loss
of the building.
On Saturday evening last a quiet
wedding was solemnized at Carmel
Presbyterian Manse, when Rev. J.
Mcllroy united in marriage Miss Gr-
ace Love, Youngest daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Love, of near Hills -
green to John V. iYr Pleven, youngest
son of the late :' as:i:i Mrs. Wm,
McEwan, of the Lon 1m. ;, nad. Fol-
lowing the ceremony they left for
Toronto and points east, and upon
their return will reside on the gro-

A pretty wedding was sorwmnized
the other evening hi St. Paup's Ang-
lican Church, when Rev. T. W. Jones
united in marriage ,Miss 011ive Beat-
rice Wolfe, second daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Chas. Wolfe of Henrall, to
George M. Moir, sin of Mr. and Mrs.
Peter Moir of Exeter. The bride was.
nicely attired in a gown of American

tended by her sister, Miss Edna
