32r. Daniel Smith, who spent the
past two weeks with friends here, re-
turned to his home at Aurdlree on
Saturday.
On .Saturday evening September
.1Stle the Brodhagen Band visited the
village and delighted the large and,
ienee with a number of very inter-
esting selections which were well re-
ceived.
The contractor, Mr. J. Reid, of
Mitchell, has now completed the 'job
of .assembling his dredge and has
started digging on the Black Creek
Drain. It is expected that the dig
ging of this large ditch will . not be
completed until the summer of 1929..
,Zurich School Fair is the next big
event in the village, and this takes
place next Tuesday on. the Agricult-
ural grounds and will creat an inter-
esting time for the school children,
and we usually notice that the par-
ents are equally enthusiastic and
show their appreciation by turning
out and helping along. We all hope
'for a fine day's weather. The dates
of the School Fair in this district is
as:follows: Sept. 27th, Crediton;
Sept 28th, Grand Bend; Oct. 1st .at
Dashwood; October 2nd at Zurich,
and October 3rd, at Hensall.

• GRUMBLING
Grumbling kills friends. We all
prefer h, rosy atmosphere to a blue
one. Grumbling and growling is a
disagreeable habit- which does very
little constructive work, but makes
harm. Usually the grumbler does
not sum up things correctly. He
lobors under a delusion. A good
:liver tonic would cure him at least
temporarily and turn his blue into a
rosy red. Why be a whiner, com-
plainer, knocker, caustic critic, and
pessimist, when we see people shun-
ning this class of people and runn-
ing into the open embrace of those
who carry the genial and sunny at-
mosphere of optimism and good
cheer!
The Peet says:
Let dogs delight to bark and bite,
For 'tis their nature to;
Let bears and tigers growl and fight
For God has made them so!
