Mr. W. J. Merner is away to Tor-
onto taking in the Exhibition, as
well as other business.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Williams of New
Hamburg were recent visitors at the
home of their neice, Mrs. C. L.
Smith.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gascho of Har-
riston were recent visitors with fri-
ends in the village,
Mr. Wm. Lamont and daughter
Jane, were Sunday visitors at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Consitt
at Hensall.
Mr. Holtzman of Port Elgin, was
a recent visitor with his father, Mr.
G. Holtzman of the village.
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Gascho and
family were Sunday visitors with re-
latives at New Hamburg.
Mr. and Mrs. John Gettus and son
Wilton, frdin Briton, Mich., were
week -end visitors, at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Henry F. Weseloh.
Messrs Menno Oesch and Ed.
Brown spent last week -end at Bay-
field, the guests of Miss Gladys Do-
uglas and Alberta Finlay.
Mrs. Wm. Meidinger has returned
home after spending two weeks with
relatives at Sebewaing, Detroit, and
Flint, Mich.
Mr. J. W. Horner of the village
has, treated himself to a new Ford,
purchasing same, from C. Fritz &
Son, local Ford dealers.
The many Zurich friends of Mr.
Martin Schweitzer .. of Texas, are
indeed pleased that he is paying
them a visit for a few weeks, but is
leaving for other parts the latter
part of the week.
Mr. Edgar Brown, who was hired
with Mr. Roy Lamont for the sum-
mer, left for Toronto on Monday.
Mr. ,Brown has been in ill health for
some time.
Rev. Mr. Lundy of Nile, a former
pastor of Blake, exchanged pulpits
with Rev. Penrose on Sunday. 'Twas
indeed a real treat to the Blake folk
to have Mr. and Mrs. Lundy with
them again.
We are experiencing a great deal
of congestion ix our s»ace of the t
Herald for several weeks, and if our
advertising space continues to be in
so much demand we must make dif-
ferent arrangements to handle the
same. We have a number of inter-
esting articles that we have set into
type but unable to use for several
weks, and will probably have to dis-
card this type as it will be too far
out of date.
