Decker, Sr.who has been quite ill
for some time, is improving as well
as be expected.

ghter Eva . of Linwood, and Mr.
Lorne Rennie, of Crosshill, were re-
cent visitors at the home of Mr. Alex
Rennie., Babylon Line.
The Womens' Missionary society
Convention, (South Section.):: of Hur-
on Presbyterial Society., of the Unit-
ed Church, will be held in Main St.
United Church, Exeter, on Thurs-
day, August 30th,
Mr. and Mrs. Win. Rennie of near
Blake, Mrs. A. Rose, Babylon Line,
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Broderick of near
Hensail all attended the funeral of
Mr. John Rennie, Kitchener, on Aug
ust 17th. Mr, Alex. Rennie of the
Babylon line was a brother to the
departed.
Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Smith and dau-
ghter returned from their holidays
on Sunday evening and had a fine
outing taking in some of the grand
sights of Michigan, as well as Port
Huron and Detroit, and Port Stanley

part of the program at the Garden
party at Moffatt's Grove at Varna,
on Tuesday evening.
On Sunday evening, August 19th,
Miss Alberta Finlay gave • a farewell
party on the Beach at Bayfield in
honor of her friend Mr. Ed. Brown
prior to his departure for Toronto.
Mr. Ed. Beaver, who has been em-
ployed in the Hess' Carriage. Works
for some timehas severed his con -
motions with that firm and has now
taken a position in the local grist
mill, which vacancy was caused by
Mr. Dan. Staubus going to London,
where he has secured a good position
as second miller in a large mill.

Mrs. Darling, of Durand, Mich.; Mrs.
Rupert of Marion, Mich., Mr. Jno.
Wagner and Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Simpson of Guelph; Mr. Frank Bos-
senberry and son Glen and Mr.
Suber of Kitchener, were recent vis-
itors at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Win. C. Wagner.
Don't forget the Flower Show on
Saturday in Zurich being put on by
the local Horticultural . Society. This
is the second annual event of it's
kind and should prove a hugh success
as it was last year. Although it
is claimed by many that most of the
flowers are about past their best
bloom, yet there should be sufficient
on hand to make this event one that,
