Mr. and Mrs. John Schettler, who
visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
W. G. Hess, the past week or so, left
on Tuesday on their long journey
by auto to Florida. The many Zur-
ich friends of Mr. and Mrs. Schettler
were indeed pleased to see them.

ily of Detroit, were Sunday visitors
at the home of f the former's parents,

Mr. J. Decher, Jr., of the Goshen
Line south has purchased from C.
Fritz & Son one of the new models
of the Ford product, and We are safe
in saying that Mr. Decher knows
in automobiles as well as in fast hor-
ses just what to buy,
Mr. Newell Geiger very ably filled
the pulpit in the Evangelical .church
on Sunday evening, and the fine
audience present were very much im
pressed with the fine message given
by this promising young man, who is
giving his services for the cause of
the Master. Next Sunday evening
Rev. C. Schrag, of the local Mennon-
ite church, will occupy the pulpit in
the Evangelical church and we know
that Mr. Schrag will have a very in-
spiring sermon for the large aud-
ience that is being looked for.

EXETER
lBagshaw's trucks have been busy
during the past week conveying a-
bout SO tons, or 4,000 cases of can-
ned goods from the Exeter Canning
Factory to the boat at Goderich.
Most of the trucking has been' done
at night, the trips being in addition
to their regular trips to London.
There are 7,500 cases at present to
be delivered and it is expected thee
delivery will continue till about the
first of September.
Mrs. J. Snell returned to her home
in town, from Pt. Huron Hospital,
where she had underwent an operat-
ion for removal of cataract from her
eye, but with regret the operation
was not successful and she has been
under the doctor's care ever since.
One of the loveliest of summer
weddings was solemnized at two
o'clock, Saturday afternoon last at
the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Thos.
Harvey, when their daughter. Mild-

The death took place in Exeter -
Hospital on Friday last of Isiah HaTI,
of Exeter North, aged 77 years, 0
months and 20 days. Be had been
a sufferer for a number of years
with asthma, and was taken ill last
spring and since that •ti'ue has . been
growing weaker, was ham. in Grey
Tp., and was united in marriage to
Nancy Ruby his bereaved widow.
The family resided in 5eaforth be-
fore coming to E::ator over thirty
years ago.
