Mr. and Mrs Herb Mousseau, ac-
companied by Mr. and Mrs. J. Wal -
per of Woodstock were on a camp-
ing trip to the Bruce Peninsular the
past week.
The fine Milverton Band gave
excellent music at Grand Bend on
Sunday, and they were accompanied
by a large number of people from
that section. •
Mr. and Mrs. C. Fritz and son
Ward, were week -end visitors with
friends. at Kitchener, Guelph, Niag-

Postmaster W. L. Siebert, accom-
panied by two old chums, Mr. Reeder
of Alberta, and Mr. Hy. Siebert of
Kansas, are on a fishing trip to the
northern part of Ontario.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin D. Smith an l
family of Hamilton, are spending;
two week's rest at Bayfield, and vis
ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.
L. Smith, on Tuesday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. W. Telfer and dau-
ghter of London and Mrs. Ewald
and daughter of Crediton, visited
last Sunday at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Theo McAdams, of the Bron-
son line, Hay.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Platz of De-
troit, accompanied by their daughter
Miss Lyola and son Raymond, were
the guests of Dr. and Mrs. A. 3. Mac-
Kinnon.
At a special meeting of Ilay Coun-
cil held the other evening, the con-
tract for constructioing the Black
Creek Drain was awarded to Reid
Bros., of Mitchell, at about $20,000
This is about $8000 under the engin-
eer's estimates.
Mr. Albert Gies of the village
advises us that he thinks he has the
tallest raspberry stock in town, that
is this year's growth, when last meas-
ured it was 5 feet 4 inches, and it
still growing. Albert would like to
know who can beat this?
Mr. and Mrs. John. Schettler and
family of Florida., are visiting at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Hess.
It is eighteen years since Mr. and
Mrs. Schettler have left Zurich and
their many friends here are indeed
very glad to see them.
While Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Greer of
Stanley Tp. were going into Bay-
field on Saturday evening with their
new sedan car, in some way some-
thing stuck in their front brakes'and
the car turned over into the Glitch,
with the result that Mrs. Greer had
her collar bone fractured.
The public of Zurich and vicinity
are having special privileges in pur-
• chasing their summer supply of sta-
ples and groceries at very attractive
prices. J. Gascho & Sons on Satur-
day started on an extended sale of
mid -summer bargains which is meet-
ing with. trig- success, and this week T

The annual picnic of the Evangel-.
ical Sabbath School of Zurich, was
held at Grand Bend last Wednesday
arternoon, the day being ideal for
the occasion, consequently there was
a large attendance, and a most enjoy
able time was spent by all. The
programme of sports run off was
well patronized and keenly contested

Berry picking is the order of the
day and the crop is a very good one.
Seaforth races are this Wednes-
day afternoon, and a goodly number
from the village are attending.

day, where they visited with the tat-
ter's brother.
Mr. and Mrs. Wrn. O'Brein, Mr.
Lee O'Brein and Miss Mildred Hoff-
man were Sunday visitors at Cross -
well, Mich. Miss Olive O'Brein,
who has been visiting relatives in
Michigan for some weeks, returned
with them.
The seventh annual re -union of
the Pfaff Family was held at Lake
Huron Park, Sarnia on July 15th
with about 125 present. Mr. John
Pfaff and f:unily, Mrs. Peter Schw-
alm and daughter May being the
only ones present from this vicinity.
,lAs a result of the new barber in
the Dominion Hotel, the two older
barbers have reduced the prices of
haircuts from 35c to 20c., and we
can now have out locks trimmed a-
bout twice as often for the same
money.
Dr. and Mrs. Hubert Klopp of Wel
land, called on Mrs. Wm. Klopp on
Sunday, who accompanied them on
a motor trip to Elmira, Ohio, where
Mrs. Klopp will stay for an indefin-
ite time with her daughter, Mrs, H.
Becker.
Rev. and 1M'Irs. W. Y. Dreier, pas-
tor. of Emanuel Evangelical Church,
Zurich, are motoring to Lisle, Illinois
on Thursday of this week to visit
with Rev. and Mrs. Nelson Dreier,
pastor of the Congregational Church
in that city. They also will attend
Summer Assemblies at Naperville
Park and North Chicago. Their
son and daughter Lorne Dreier, of
Chesley, Ont., and Pearl Dreier of
Hanover will accompany them. Rev.
W. Y. Dreier hopes to return to his
pulpit for Sunday, August 19th.
A very interesting gathering took
place at Grand Bend on Sunday, the
occasion being Mr. William Lamont's
hi thd�, ", when members Qf the; fam-
ily, and other friends gathered for
the occasion, a very enjoyable time
was spent, and all expressed their
wishes that Mn Lamont may exper-
ience many more such events. A-
