Mr. and Mrs E. Bender and fam-
ily of Myth, were Sunday visitors at
the home of Mrs, Lydia Pfile.
Misses Miranda Brown and Ileen
Rats, who are preparing themselves
for missionary work in the foreign
field, for the Evangelical church,
were week -end visitors with their
friend, Miss Olive O'Brein.
Fine progress has been uiade by
those interested in the Horticultural
Society in beautifying up the town,
as numerous fine flower plots have
been started and are on their way to
make things look real nifty. The
large plots on the Mill Street have
all been worked up and most are
already planted for the summer.
Huron Day at O. A. C.
June 20th has been set as the
date when farmers of Huron, Halton
Waterloo, Dufferin, Perth, Bruce
and Grey will visit the Ontario Agri-
cultural College, Guelph, during the
annual Farmer's Week this year.
Some real nice showers of rain
visited this part of Ontario the last
few days, and things should be com-
ing along now, if the warm weather
follows. We have so far had a
very cool spring and one could not
comfortably sit around without fire
in the stove. During the past week
some of our citizens living at the
east end of the village, had their
early potatoes frozen off.
Mr. Floyd Fink, who has been the
efficient teller of The Bank Of Mont-
real, Zurich, forthe past few years,
has received notice that he has been
transfered to the Watford Branch of
the same Bank, his transfer taking
place immediately. Mr. Fink's
many Zurich friends regret very
much to see him leave, as he was of
such a fine and obliging disposition
in the discharge of hisduties. His
vacancy will be filled by Mr. Thomp-
son of Thorold.
All Bees Registered
Becouse of the serious nature of
bee diseases it is illegal to keep bees
even one colony, without a permit..
The object of this registration is not
to prevent people keeping bees but
to assist the inspectors in locating
bees and to assist in the financing
of the same. Every bee owner should
welcome the inspector because the
iocating of disease in its early stages
not only saves you money but pre- l''l' ' ' +++++++4++++ene.en..ese
vents your yard becoming a menace +
to all, the bees within a three mile 2
radius.
