Hensall Woman Granted Alimony
Alimony of $50 a month, payable

by Justice Kelly in a judgment hand

A rally was held' -for the young
Conservatives of Clinton and sur-
rounding townships in the town hall
Clinton, on. Tuesday evening, May,
29th. Mrs.,. Fallis was present and
addressed the gathering. A social
program was also held.
At the meeting of the board of',
directors 'of the Goderich Agricult-
viral Society the other evening, the �
dates of the fall fair of 1928 were
fixed for Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday, Sept. 17, 18, and 19th..

is preparing to build .a new home
for himself in his park. ° He expects
to remain longer in the fall and re-
turn earlier in the spring.
Workmen have commenced on
widening the road by the river at
Grand ,Bend, which will greatly add
to the improvement of the village as
well as being safer.

A pretty spring • wedding was sol-
einnized at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Geo. Earl, Usborne, when their
eldest daughter Gladys Laurene was
united in marriage to Harold M.
Hern, of Usborne. The ceremony
was performed by the pastor, Rev.
W. T. Snaith.
A district meeting of Oddfellows
was held at Brucefield the other ev-
ening, when F. Sturdy, of Goderieh,
was elected D. D. G. M. succeeding

On Sunday last two young men

A boyish prank nearly cost the
life of Jim Salkeld, son of Mr. and
Mrs. R. L. Salkeld Hayfield Road.,
the other evening when, he -was set-
ting oil:. some firecrackers, and put
one in a bottle. 'When it exploded
the bottle was shattered and a piece
of the glass struck Jim in the, neck,
making a terrible gash, and by the
time a doctor arrived and the flow
of_ blood was staunched he had near-
lybled to death. He was in a very
