Way, of St. Thomas and Mrs, J, Routledge, of Dutton, have been here for several days. The other morning. Mrs. Dougald Love met with an unfortunate accid- ent, She hadgone into the wood- shed and tipped and fell, her head striking against a lawn mower in-. flicting a nasty wound just above the eye. The wound bled profusely and Mrs. Love was taken to the Ezeter hospital where the wound was dres- sed. The .death to ok place in, Exeter on ,April 26th of Edward Campbell, who was called away in the prime of life being In his 47th year. About a we- ek previous the deceased contracted a cold which developed into double pne umonia which was the cause o f his death, Mr, Campbell was born on the Thames Road and farmed in Us - borne Tp. until he moved to Exeter three years ago. He is survived by his bereaved widow, whose maiden name was Mary White, and four child ren. A well known resident of Exeter. The other day Roy Geiger had a horse get caught in the halter rope on the hind feet. Mr. Geiger in getting the horse free was kicked in. the face and thrown back in the man- ger. The horse has since died in spite of the best medical skill. This is the second loss Mr. Geiger has had as lie lost a cow in March. . A public meeting was held in the town hall, Hensall, on Friday evening May 4th, to see what steps could be taken to fight the Black Creek drain award. This meeting was called by farmers to the west of Henson, who are very much dissatisfied with the drain award. A very large acerage of onions is being sown here this spring. In the death of B. P. Bell, sea- forth, eaforth, which oectired at his residence at that place on April 30th, Seafortle has lost a well known and prominent resident; the community, a pioneer and the church a valued member of.
