At about 15 minutes to 11. o'clock fire was discovered in the building where the fire engine is kept and by the timely arrival of a few citizens it was extinguished. If the fire had got a start of five minutes More noticing could have stopped it and it is a question where it would have ended, as all the buildings in that neighborhood are frame and very close together. The origin of the fire is unknown, but incendiarisna is suspected. Mrs. Bart, of Hay Township, who resides near the swamp, back of Peter Munn's place, is in a bad state She has been ill for some time and an operation is neccessary to . save her life. The 'husband is a laborer and there are a number of small children ranging in age from. three to thirteen years. By the charity of a few of the neighbors, the fain - are kept from want but it is thought that the Hay Council ought to act in the matter with prompt- ness. New ads.—J. D. Merner, R.
