Mr. David Schnell recently sold a three' -year old colt to Mr. Janice;Jarrott,nearHil:lsgreen,for alS3.00. The price obtained for the colt speaks well for the quality of horses raised by Mr. Schnell. A large number of the young people of town drove to the home of Mr. Alex Thompson., near Blake, on Wednesday evening, and spent the evening very pleasantly in dancing and other amusements. The Hensall Band have decided to disband. Tlio expenses of Main- taiping it were too much for the boys, and some of the playeiee have left Hensall. Thus it was with the Zurich and Dashwood bands. Mr. Joseph Regier, of the Goshen lino, has received= his gasoline en gine•. it is manufactured by the Sylvester Co. and has a tnaxirnum of six -horse power. Mr. Regier will rase it for pumping water, cutting straw and feed, chopping,. etc. This is no experiment as farmers in dif- ferent parts of the county have them in use and in a few years they will be a, cerumen thing. The cost of one developing six•horse power is about $300, while a one to two - horse powor costs about $12t$, D. S.
