TIIE ROXON BINDER at Wort
Some of the .Excellent Features of
this Popular Machine.
Yesterday - afternoon an-exhibi-
tion of the working of a-Noxon. No.
9 binder was given on the farm of
Mr. W. F. Johnston inside the Cor--
por€ation, at which. the townspeople
anct neighboring fanners were in.
vited to attend. So much has been
said. in favoi of this popular ma-
chine. that it was not renlarka.b]e
that there was a large. audience.—
Keen interest was manifested by all
especially the farmers, and the nm -
chino, a six-foot one. drawn 1)y two
horses, did its work faultlessly.—
It evil., set in motion in to field of
heavy oat*, and so simple u.nd eon
venient was it to operate that a eon
ple of lathes, residents of the town,
drove it around the field. han(lling
it with perfect ease. Many others
also rode the machine and were lend
11) their praise of the satisfactory
manner in which it performed its
work. Several photographs tare
taken while the work, was in pro-
gress by Mr. F. G. Kiborn
After every feature of the ma-
chine had been taken into consider-
ation the general opinion was that
a more perfect binder could not be
found.
Truly there is no end to inechani-
eral skill and invention. There are
to -day many machines of all and
every kind which appear to be al-
most human. In .going through
onr factories we see machines for
turning out some of the most deli-
cate workmensliipeworking away
apparently without € ny supervision
beyond that they are kept fed with
the raw material, and yet wear by
year these same machines which
were at one time considered perfect
are still perfected., while it seems
impossible to improve upon them.
One naturally asks the question,
where is all this to end ? Surely
the time will colpo when there
will 1 e no occasion for man to per-
form labor but work machinery
will have taken its place.
These inventions are net confined
to any indu-try. The need for thein
mares) inspires mechanical
minds. se, that the latter in a teen-
"earetively short time ere enabled
to produce that which the needs of
the hour demand. rrliis iS 1110TO

A GREAT LITTLE WORKER..
During a long life time the heart
will,propel half a million tons . of
blood through the body, and so long
as the blood is in a healthy condi-

wastes, patiently keeping up the
play of its valves and the xhylnth
of its throb. If the action of the
heart gets weak. irregular or flut-

such assistance as is best supplied

TRAVELLED FROM WINNIPEG,
Mother and Two Daughters, in Needy
Ciroumstances, Halo the Journey
from Winnipeg to Gravenhurst to
Seek Admission to the Fro. Hospital
for Consumptives.
An illustration of the many distressing
Cases constantly coming before the man-
agement of the Free Hospital for Con-
sumptives at Gravenhurst is in point this
week. A week since, the Secretary, at
the head office in Toronto, through whom
all applications should properly be made,
received a long-distance telephone mes-
sage from the Physician -in -Charge at
Gravenhurst, saying that a mother, with
• two daughters, both of whom were af-
flicted with consumption, had presented
themselves at the doors of the Free Hos-
pital, hoping to be at once admitted.
' One daughter has the trouble only in a
slight degree, and from a medical point of
view is admissible, as soon as room can
be made, The other has the disease in a
more acute condition, and will need to
take immediate rest until it becomes
somewhat quiescent. The family are poor,
their railway fares having been paid by a
friend. The mother has been given em-
ployment on the domestic staff of the
Hospital, and the daughters will board
in town until there are vacant beds
in the Hospital to admit them. They
came all this distance poverty stricken,
but in the belief- that somehow they
would manage to get admission to the
institution.
Want of money is the only thing, the
Trustees tell us, that is preventing the
increase of accommodation beyond the
eighty patients already provided for. Up
tote .present no one has been refused
admission on account of his or her
poverty, but we are told that the want
of funds is' peeventing the Trustdes from
providing the increased accommodation
needed. Indeed, a heavy burden of debt
is now pressing upon them, and must be
promptly met if this work is to be carried
011.
Contributions may be sent to Sir Wm,
R. Meredith, Kt., 4 Lamport A.ve., To-
ronto, or Mr. W. J. Gage, 54 Front St.
West, Toronto.

"I have used Ayer's Hair Vigor
for over thirty years. It has kopt
my scalp free from .dandruff and
has prevented my hair from turn-
ing gray."—Mrs. F. A. Soule,
Billings, Mont.
There is this peculiar
thing about Ayer's Hair
Vigor—it is a hair food,
not a dye. Your hair does
not suddenly turn black,
look dead and lifeless.
But graduallythe old color
comes back,—all the rich,
dark color it used to have.
The hair stops falling, too.
