Mr. John Deiohcrt, Jr.; left on
Wednesday morning for Chicago
to undergo another operation for
appendicitis. Johnie has had a good
share of trouble the past year and
it is sincerely hoped that this oper-
ation will restore slim to health.
The regular meeting of the W. C.
T. U. was held. at the home of Mrs.
Williams, on Monday evening, July
6th. Mrs. Merner led the devotion-
al exercises. Owing to the amount
of business the Educational part
was shortened. A letter was read
from Mrs. Whitesides, telling us
about a W. C. T. U. Convention
held in Montreal. The meeting
closed by singing the Temperance
Doxology.
We aro pleased. to note, from a
letter' received. from Father Valen-
tin recently, that he is steadily im-
proving in health and is able to
take some out -door exercise. He
also informs us that he was out for
a short drive on theist. inst., the
first in nine months. The many
friends of the Revere s1 gentleman,
will be delighted to hear of his re-
covery.
