Those who have never visited
the Model Fara) or .Agricultural
'College, at c4aclph, should take in
the Excursion on the 20th. It is
under the aspires of the Farmers'
Institutes of the County and • the
farmers of this and all other parts
of Huron; County due invited, and
expected I :,attend.
Mr. \% ifi Cosgrove, of Berlin,
was in the village last week, trying
to prevail on Mr. Williams to let
)int put a fuel -saving apparatus in
Lis mill. The latter, however, has
of yet deckled to do so, preferring
to wait to see whether it is a suc-
cess or failure in other places where
it has been installed.
It is thought that the tax to be
levied in the Tuwnsliip will be a
mill on the dollar higher than it
has been for several rears past.
This is in consequence of works of
necessity, note under contract.
The peopleDave however, no cause
for complaint so far as taxation in
this Township, is concerned.
Mr. John 1Veseloll has a new Tire
Setting device in his Blacksmith
Shop, whish is is said to set tires
without heating. This will do
away with the disagreeable job of
uildin„ fires all around theta, and
citing until they are red hot, to
do the work. It should be a great
saver of time and labor. Sec cut in

Mr, Crawley, of Exeter, was in
the village last week and bought a
horse from Nicholas Foster, for
which he paid a fair price,
Mrs. C. Eilber, her daughter Dora,
and son Charlie, drove over to Dash
wood, on Wednesday,. and spent the
day there, visiting friends.
The regular Meeting of the W.
C. T. U. will be held at the home
of Mrs. P. Bender,on Monday even-
ing, June 15th, at 8 o'clock.
Mr. Chris Eilber has had the roof
of his house painted 'a beautiful
shite color. It looks quite new
since undergoing the operation.
Dr. and Mrs. I3latekall and dough- .Ne.
ter, Cathleen, of the "Queen's
Hotel," Honsall were in the village
for a short time, on Friday evening
last.
Mr. Henry Hoffman and wife, and
Mrs. Louis Preoter and wife, of
.Dashwood, visited at Mr. John
Preeter's,ancl other friends in town,
on Sunday.
Mr. Fulton, Inspector of the Sov-
ereign Banit., Was in the Village on
Tuesday, and 1) ado the customary
examination of the 'books of the
branch at this place,
Mr. D. S. Faust is having his
store front painted and leis veran-
dah trilnnled in different collors,
which improves the appearance of
his property very much. .
Mr. Wes. Schelleg, of the Goshen
Line, sold a heavy draught horse
to a gentleman from Mitchell, this
week, for the sum of $175. The an-
imal was a four-year-old.
Boys, get your horses in training
for: the Far)ner's Trot; at .the Fair
Ground, on the 24th of September.
There are likely to be many entries
and lots •of fun, on the occasion. wit
Messrs. R. Stelek and C. Camp- the
bell, rdport a good- time and lots of
sport, at their piscatorial outing, on
