We always feel pleased to have our bother newspaper men call on us, more particularly men of Mr. Braclwin's stamp. ' Our citizens and the general pub- lic, should remember that the store here close three evenings of each week, viz : Tuesdays, 'Thurs- days and Fridays, at 6 o'clock. Take a mental note of this and you will not be disappointed. Mrs. Gerber and child, who were here during a part of her father's illness and was after visiting at her brother's, Mr. Albert Zettel, of the Blind line, left on Saturday morning to join her husband, who is a traveller, at Chicago, Ill. The Sovereign Bank is meeting with good success since opening its branch here, about 12 or 15 days ago. It is doing a fairly good busi- now. All persons who have any- thing to do in that line should not think of passing the hoino branch. which;,is filling a long -felt want in the Village. The anana.gef, Mr. F. E. Karn, formerly of the Molson branch, Hensall, is a hustler after business and is jL st the kind of man to bring succes to anything with which he has to do. The foot -ball match which was to have • taken place last Friday night between the Drysdale and Zurich teains did not take place owing to the non-appearanc of the Drysdale team. It was, a clisap pointmentas the match hacl been advertised and quite a number were out to witness it. This kind of thing won't do, unless a better excuse than "best man laid up" is found. . As it was .we had' a very good match, the home team playing against a mixed team from the surrounding villages which result- ed in a snore of 3 to 0 in favor of the home team. Messrs. 0. The test showed that Schilbe's Empire skimmed '55 lbs. of milk in 40 seconds less than. Kipper's National. This should' satisfy farmers which machine to buy. Both machines were rated the same capacity and the test was made between the parties merely to ]lave, the skimming merits of both machines judged , for their mutual satisfaction.
