A. convention closed its meeting today, and the work has now been successfully launched in Huron, and it depends on the efforts of the local leaders and the liberality of the business nteu as to whether the money necessary to carry on the work will be raised and a Secretary placed in the fiold. As soon as pledges to the amount of $1,800 or over are secured a Sec- retary will be employed, who will give his whole time t ,the work of the Bounty. A torch -light procession was organ- ized by the school boys, which af- forded great amusement for both political parties, which were of course on the opposite side of the street, one from the other. A local contest will soon be on and it will of course be perfectly in order for the winning side to celebrate in just such style, which no doubt they will. Rev. A. D. Martin barrister of Regina, son of Rev. Martin of town, will contest Regina in the Liberal interest, for a seat in the Commons. Last year there were 1093 patient:4 ad- mitted. 0f these 378 came from 251 places outside of Toronto—all were children of floor people who could not afford to pay for treatment of their little ones.
