Mrs. Andrew Johnston, formely living near Zurich, but lately of Willow Hall farm, London road near Hensall. died an the 20th inst, having reached the age of nearly 72 years. Mr. Wm. Becker returned on Saturday evening, from 3ask-I atebewan. Ile showed us a sample of wheat which he brought with him from his son's farm. The wheat is badly frozen, and is sell- ing at about 2s cents per bushel. Billy says that tinges will likely be very dull in the West for a while. Mr. John G. Erb of the Bronson Line had quite a loss through fire on Friday' last, when his sin oho house, and apple drying house was totally destroyed together with a lot of apples in process of drying, Mr. Erb had only recently put the dry -house in first class shape, and the cost will be considerable to have the building, racks, etc, re- plaeea. We learn there is a greater demand than ever this season and those that want to receive the paper regularly during 1008 should send in their orders at once.
