Thanksgiving Day was observed
as a general holiday by the resi-
dents of this vi1tage. Many went
mut on a days sport with a gun to
the woods, but we have not seen
ranch game.
The Y. P. A. of this place intend
holding an entertainment in the
pear future which promises to be a
grand success.
Geo. Edighoffer has his shop
ready for the br'iekwork,with about
a week more fine weather it will
be near completed,
Mr J liellerivan is having a new
front put in his store, replacing the
old one recently destroyed by the
big fire.
Mrs. Peter Hesenhauer and her
Sister-in-law Miss Hesenhaner of
Walkerton are visiting at the home
of Mrs. W. Ehlers.
The Evangelical congregation, of
this place intend holding a Christ-
mas entertainment this year as
usual. The program committe was
appointed on Sunday.
Miss Ethel Kellerman, who is at-
tending the Model at Goderieh,
spent the holiday, at her home
here She has :been engaged for
the coming year to teach in the
Union School, aboi.it three milee
west of this village.
In our school here we are to have
a new teaching staff after this
year. The present principal in-
tend sto further pursue his studies
and the lady teachers will go to
Centralia and Lumby. We are in-
deed sorry to lose such efficient
teachers as they have proved o

selves to be and hope for their
successors the same success as has
attended the efforts of the present
teachers.
