What will appear very interest-
ing to many people here is the
article taken 'from a New York
Daily paper, giving a simple pres-
cription as formulated by a' noted
authority, who claims that he has
found a positive remedy to cure al-
most any case of backache or kid-
ney er bladder derangement, in the
following sittiPe prescription, if
taken before the stage of Bright's
ciseese.
Fluid Extract Dandelion, one-

A well-known tlrugist here at
hone, when asked regarding this
prescription, stated that the ingre-
dients are all harmless, and can be
obtained at a sznaii cost from any
good prescription pharmacy, or the
mixture would be put up if asked
to do so. He further stated that
while this prescription is often
prescribed in the rheumatio afflic-
tions with splendid results, he
could see no reason why it should
notbe a splendid remedy for kid-
ney and urinary troubles and back-
ache, as it bas . a peculiar action
upon the kidney structure, cleans-

DISASTROUS FIRE NEAR
PARKHILL.
Parkhill, Oot. 1-A fire occurred
yesterday with very sad results,
when the house of Mr. G. Lavery,
of the seventh concession, McGil-
livray, was burned to the ground
and the 2 -year-old child of Mrs.
Harris, of Niagara Falls, perished
in the flames.
Mr. Lavern is an unmarried naso
and itis mother, 74 years of age,
lived with him.
The old lady had been quite ill
of late, and her daughter, Mrs.
Harris. was assisting in caring for
beg. It seems that last night the
family had been up for several
hours waiting on the aged lady,
and early in the morning the kit-
chen fire had been lighted with
coal oil, the can being left nearby.
The family then went back to bed,
and in some way the fire caught
the coal oil, setting the house on
fire.
Mr; Wm. Pumfrey, who was
driving past, saw the house burn-
ing, and aroused the inmates, who
escaped as they were, Mrs. Harris
was very badly burned but the
baby oould not be saved, notwith-
standing heroic efforts on the part
of those who had come to assist
Mr. John Emery, a neighbor, bad
his hand badly burned. All the
contents of the house were destroy.
