ZELLER, FRIDAY, JULY 12th, 1907. In view of the activity among politioians on both. sides of the political fence in placing candidat- es in the field and in otherwise preparing for a corrin: conflict especially in this province, many have concluded that a general elec- tion or general elections are im- minent, or in the near future. This is a misapprehension of .ties real situation. What the cause is for this political activity so far in advance, we do not know, brut` it evidently forebodes a -severe' kind sanguinary struggle both in the Provincial and Dominion • arenas when the time comes. But the Ontario Legislature still has an- other term, and another session to put in before a dissolution and an election takes place. There is nothing on the surface at the pre- sent, nor is there anything likely to arise, which will necessitate . an election before the regular time. Under these circumstances, there- fore, there is no likelihood of an election for the Provincial Legis lature sooner than a year or about June of next year. The Dominion Parliament ',still has two terms to run before a general election is necessary. ,But of late years the Dominion Parlia- ment has never lived out . its full term and Parliament has been dis- solved at the close of the fourth term, Should this course be ';pur- sued on this occasion the dissolu- tion will take place some time after the close of the next session :and the elections will follow immediate- ly after, so that eve need not look for a Dominion election much or any before September or October of 1908.—Huron Expositor.
