A dance, held in Johnston's hall
last Friday evening, was fairly well
attended.
Messrs .T. P. Rau, Jacob Deich-
ert, C. Eilber and H. H, Little at
tended the races at Parkhill last
Friday.
Miss Freda Hess, who is teaching
school near Blyth. spent Friday
and Saturday of last week at her
home here.
The local junior football team
will play a game with the Bruce -
field juniors at the Fair Gronnds,
here this evening. Game called at
7 o'clock.
Rev. and Mrs. Schuelke are at-
tending the Lutheran synod at
Pembroke at present. No preach-
inn services will be held in the
church here next Sunday, nor on
the following Sunday.
The weather still continues to be
one of the absorbing topics around
town On Monday another snow-
storm arrived and wintry -weather
Prevailed all day. The oldest set -
tiers cannot remember of such con-
tinued cold weather in the spring,
although snow has often fallen on
May 24th. The weather like taken
a milder turn and allare hoping
that the weather man will attend
to business and give gentle (?)
spring a chance.
