LATE HENRY WORM, SR.
After an illness extending over
six weeke, the spirit of the 'bite
Henry `Wurrn, Sr., passed pee.cefnl-
lv to rest on Thursday of last week

The Tate Mr Wnrin was born in
Bliehrote Hesse Darmstadt. Ger-
Teeny, on the 20th of November,
4809. In the year 1833 he was
married and his partner in life pre
• deceased him about fifteen years
ago. He emigrated to Canada in
1837 and livedLin Berlin and Bres-
lau until the spring of 1855, when
he came to the township of Bay
and lived here until tba time of his
death. Be was a carpenter by
trade and did considerable work in
that lino in the early days of the
• village of Zurich, and it is said
that he built the first dwelling
house in Berlin, Ont, For the last
• years he has made his home with
his danghter-in-law, Mrs, H. Wenn
on the old thornestead. where he
received the most kind and essid-
nous attention daring his last 111-
ness. Despite his advanced age he
•bad the t180 of all his intellects to
a reasonable degree up to the time
of his sickness. lie was highly
esteemed by all who knew him and
a stauncher or timer friend would
bo hard to find. In relieion he was
a Letheron and in politics a live-
long Liberal, One son, Mattheis
Wurin, and ono danghter, Mrs
• Casper Weber, survive him. be-
sides a stepson, Martin 13eckor, of
Blumenthal, forty-eight rand
children, nineteen great grand

and school was closed on Wednes-
day and Thursday.
Even the rural postmaster is
sharing in the prosperity of the
times. The postmaster -general
has announced that henceforth the
minimum. eatery ;will be$50 instead
of $25.
The smallpox sore in Dashwood
and vicinity is over and the patients
have all recovered. There are still
a few cases in Stephen township,
but the spread of the disease has
been checked.
Tbe Zurich Flax Co, have started
making some extensive repairs to
their mill. A cement foundation
is being put beneath the building.
A metal roof will replace the old
one, and the sides faced with metal

put the mill into first-claes shape.

graduate as Dr. of Dental Surgery,
from the Detroit College of Medi-
