Mr. Jos. Dirstine, our genial

The annual meeting of the Re-
form Association of South Huron!

poses, will be held in the Opera
House, Hansen, on Tuesday, March

Mr. Harold Wiltse, of Clinton,
formerly with the Sovereign Bank,
and at one time one of the staff at
the local branch., has left for
Winnipeg where ho will engage in
the real estate business.
The local option by-law, which
was voted on by .Ailsa Craig rate-
payers at the last municipal elec-
tions, has been quashed. The
votes cast were 104 for, and 70
against, and the number of votes
required to carry local option was
104 2-5.
Mr. Isaac Hudson, of the Parr
Line, Stanley, has disposed of his
125 -acre farm to Andrew Love'of
the same line for $5500.00. Mr.
Hudson does not give up possession
until next March, and intends go-.

School Commissioner David Iaer-
cher was here last week and in-
spected our high school. Ho re-
ports that under Superintendent
Mc(%dluni and his staff there is a
decided improvement in the discip-
line and order as well as satisfac-
tory progress in the various branch-
es of studies by the scholars. Mr.
Kaeroher called at the Critic office
and for half an hour, Davie and ye
editor gossipped about the Geigers,
Heys, Surerus, Schuchters, Wil -
sons, Faust, Zellers, Merner, Hess
Steinbaclis, Deicherts and a host of
other old time friends in Zurich
and vicinity. It was indeed a plea-
sant visit. In refering to Charles
Hey, Mr. Kaeroher is pleased that
his successor is such a capable man,
one who is eligible in every way
for the responsible position county
