By Rev. Irl. R. Hicks. A reactionary storm period is central on the 19th, 20th and 21st. As this 'is at the center of the December, or winter, solstice period and also at the beginning of a Mer- cury period, it will be safe to count on a period of prolonged stormy aud severe weather. Storms will be more general and marked on and touching the 10th and 20th, but threatening to storming conditions on land and sea. will continue over the 21st and 22nd into the storm period following. Seismic and volcanic action are liable to reach a general lnaxinium. From about the e4th to 27th look for the lowest fall of the barometer in December. Violent rains and snow storms will gather rapidly in western parts, and move eastward with widening,1 areas and znoreasing;energy. This is a period in which many parts of the country will be visited by de- structive sleet. This is also a period in which a Curious blizzard is apt to swetp out of the northwest and down through the central parts of the country. Canada and the New England States will come in for a "lion's sharp" of these general, mid -winter perturbations, The cold wave following this period will send the Mercury to one of its lowest readings during this month, or possibly for the whole winter.
