DEATH. OF MRS. C. STELOK.
The home of Mr, Chas. Stele:,
near Hillsgreen, was east into deem
gloom on Friday last, when the
spirit of his beloved wife took its
flight. The deceased had been ill
for only three weeks, and although
the best medical aid was obtained
and she was given the most care-
ful attendance, it proved of no
avail. She had reached the age of

very kindly disposition and was
much respected by an, with whom

If it were a lighted balloon, it
would have to be at least fifty
miles in the air to be seen at this
distance. The curvature of the
earth makes such a difference that
the altitude -would necessurily be
that much. And when it is re-
membered that the highest point
ever reached by a balloon iS seven
miles, it will be seen that a balloon
at fifty miles is an. impossibility. It
i nothing more or less than the
star Venus.
